PyCon JP 2015 welcomes topics from YOU!
PyCon JP is the largest annual Python event in Japan. This year, it will be held on October 9th to 11th.
We welcome a wide range of topics from you in each session. As usual, we will have Talk Sessions (30min or 45min), Poster Sessions (Booth Style), Lightning Talks (5min), and Tutorial Sessions.
For Pycon JP speaker applicant. Ticket purchase or sponsor invitation is necessary for presentation.
We are going to accept the topics separately. So, we have 4 different sessions that you can apply for.
We hope you will actively submit your topic and participate in this event!!

Sessions Details
Talk Sessions
This is the core program in PyCon JP. We have these sessions through 2 days. It is not necessary for you to be professional or have deep experience about Python when it comes to submitting the proposals to these sessions. Whoever you are, whatever the level of knowledge about Python, as long as we see your topic is suitable for our event, we will accept your topic. As for the possible topics, you can talk about the cutting-edge usages of Python, Python community, the case studies in which you used Python nicely, or even you can talk about Python in education or science. We hope participants can discuss various topics and share the knowledge and information.
As in the last year, we have 2 types in the length of the talk sessions, one is about 30 min long (the basic one), and the other about 45 min long. You can talk either in Japanese or English. You can apply for more than one topic. The selected topics will be announced later on.
We are asking for your cooperation in recording and live streaming of your talk. It is not mandate to do the recording or streaming, so please let us know your preference through the application form. (there is a check box in the form).

Poster Sessions
The poster sessions are where you can put up your poster on the wall and discuss freely with the participants. We will give a poster booth for each presenter. The all participants can walk around and have a look in the interesting booths. In spite of its name, we don't require you to bring a poster at all, so you can even present your topic without a poster. It is completely up to you.
This is the great chance for you to demonstrate your program and show off your equipment because you can explain them right in front of the audience, which is not possible in the talk sessions. Plus, you can talk very interactively with the participants. This is the chance for you if you want to introduce your community or software.
Rules for the poster sessions are as follows:
- Bring your poster if you are going to use one.
- The size of the board is 1132mm × 1640mm (You can use A0 size poster).
- A presentation without any poster is also allowed.
- One table for each presenter
- The size of the table is 1800mm × 600mm.

Lightning Talks
Lightning Talks(LT) is the session the all presenters talk about substantial matters just in 5 minutes. We will welcome any topics which are related to Python in some part. Please feel free to apply for this talks.
Why don't you join to have a talk about Python? There are various talks every year from informative talks to funny interesting talk.
Again, this is JUST 5 MINUTES long. We will forcibly move on to next speaker when the time has come. So please prepare your laptop and slides to use, and practice enough so that you can talk what you want to talk in the limited time.
In case that there are so many speakers, we might choose who are going to talk beforehand. We will announce the time of Lighting Session as soon as we fix the time schedule of conference.
Tutorial Session
Tutorial Session is a lecture style session which you must pay for to attend. One lecturer will have 30 attendees at the maximum and deliver hands on or workshops during this session. We aim at offering education or experience using Python through this session.

Please note that we are going to welcome applicants for this session publicly. If you want to teach something about Python, please apply for this session as a lecturer.
We will announce details of this session later.
How to Apply?
In order to apply for each sessions, first you need to Sign Up , and login to the page. Then you need to register your profile in Dashboard , and finally you can apply for the session from "Submit a new proposal".
This year, we will post your topics on our Web site regardless of whether your topic is selected to present in the conference!"
We might refer some opinions on SNS about your topics in deciding which topic to choose.
This Year's Theme
This year's theme is "Possibilities of Python".
We set this theme because we strongly wish that participants explore, find, and expand "Possibilities of Python" or possibilities of those who are related to Python through this event. We are really looking forward to hearing your talks about YOUR thought on "Possibilities of Python".
